Multilingual Site

A multilingual site displays your site content in several languages, allowing you to reach international markets. A multilingual site can be configured to switch language depending on:

  • the language setting of the browser
  • the geographical region of the user (IP detection)
  • a manual language switcher

Multilingual sites can also serve the different languages:

  • under a single domain, often using the language code in the URL (e.g. www.yourdomain.com/de, www.yourdomain.com/en etc.)
  • under subdomains of the main domain (e.g. de.yourdomain.com, en.yourdomain.com etc.)
  • under the regional TLD of your domain (e.g. www.yourdomain.de, www.yourdomain.co.uk etc.)
